To help you get up to speed as quickly as possible, we have set up a “WED Video Conference” for Thursday, April 16th at 11 am Pacific Time.
#VISUAL STUDIO CODE MICROSOFT 5M FOR FREE#
Best of all, we have made it available for free on both AccuTerm 7 and AccuTerm 8, although the experience will be much richer on AccuTerm 8. This is a very exciting feature for new and existing developers working on your PICK application. If you are using WED it’s just a matter of changing the command from “WED” to “VSCODE” and you are editing it in VS Code!
#VISUAL STUDIO CODE MICROSOFT 5M CODE#
With this new feature, we enable VS Code to read and write files from Pick just like you do with the WED Editor. What we’ve done today is connect VS Code back to Pick using AccuTerm as its pipe. You may recall that Zumasys and OnGroup collaborated earlier in the year to support MV Basic as a language extension in VS Code – this was a community effort and MV Basic works with everybody’s flavor of MultiValue. And it has thousands of extensions, many developed by the community, to make your job as a developer easier. I like it because it is full-featured, open source and it runs on every platform – Mac, Linux & Windows. My hope is that you can begin testing and provide us with your feedback.īy way of background, VS Code is a free mainstream editor from Microsoft that already has something like 5M users – it is growing like wildfire. That’s why I am very excited to share a new integration that we just finished for Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code. I continue to be honored by your passion and commitment to AccuTerm and WED.Īt the same time, we all know that we need to “ready” our PICK applications for the next generation of developers. When I added WED as a feature to AccuTerm back in 2000, I could never have anticipated the level of adoption we’d achieve.

Like many PICK developers, you may have come to rely on the AccuTerm WED Editor for your development.
